FAQ

Common Questions Before Quotation

Short answers to common selection and purchasing questions.

What is fluoropolymer tubing?

Fluoropolymer tubing is tubing made from fluorine-containing polymers such as PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE and PVDF. It is commonly selected for chemical resistance, temperature stability, purity and low-friction fluid transfer.

What is the difference between PTFE, FEP and PFA tubing?

PTFE is widely used for strong chemical resistance and low friction. FEP is often selected when clarity and flexibility are important. PFA is preferred for high-purity and high-temperature chemical transfer.

Which tubing is best for high-purity applications?

PFA tubing is often chosen for semiconductor and high-purity chemical systems, while PTFE may also be suitable depending on the process media, temperature and documentation requirements.

Can fluoropolymer tubing be customized?

Yes. Custom options can include material, ID, OD, wall thickness, length, color, cut-to-length format, packaging, heat shrink, flaring, cuffing and other processing requirements.

Can it be used with strong acids and solvents?

Many fluoropolymer materials offer excellent resistance to acids, alkalis and solvents. The final material selection should be confirmed against the exact chemical media, concentration, temperature and pressure.

What information is needed for a quote?

Please provide material preference, ID, OD, wall thickness, length, quantity, application, chemical media, temperature, pressure, compliance needs and any drawings or special packaging requests.
